My name is Paul Willmott and I am the founder and leader of Digital McKinsey. I’ve been fascinated by technology since my parents bought me a Sinclair ZX81 when I was 13 years old. Following a degree in Physics at Imperial College, I started my career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where i learned how to design, build and deploy software on an enterprise scale. Since joining McKinsey 20 years ago, I’ve been helping executive teams transform their businesses to survive and thrive in a digital world. Every day I meet with clients to discuss how digital technology is changing their businesses, how to craft winning strategies, and how to build the capabilities needed to execute. I also take time to meet with enterpreneurs, technology providers, capital providers and anyone else who can help me broaden my perspective. Digital is a fast-moving space and knowledge has a short half-life. My role spans sectors and geographies, and I try to spot emerging patterns in the digital world, and distil those into blog posts and articles. I also speak at conferences.
I live in West London with my wife Ruth who runs a thriving garden design practice and our two sons. I like to cycle and play guitar badly.
